About Our Team
The Story Behind Cast Iron Music Group
Cast Iron Music Group (CIMG) did not begin as a business plan or a label. It began in a small room filled with folding chairs, acoustic guitars, notebooks, and a group of songwriters searching for a place to share their songs.
More than twenty-five years ago, several of the members who now make up CIMG first met at the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) meetings in Dayton, Ohio. Week after week, writers gathered in that room with the same purpose: to play the songs they were writing and to hear honest feedback from people who cared deeply about the craft.
Those early meetings became something far more meaningful than a simple songwriting workshop. They became the foundation of lifelong friendships.
The creative process — where every CIMG song begins
A Brotherhood Built on Songs
Songwriting is one of the most personal forms of expression. When someone plays a song they've written, they're often sharing something deeply private — an experience, a heartbreak, a hope, or a memory.
Over the years, the members who would eventually form CIMG shared thousands of songs with one another. But more importantly, they shared their lives. Through those songs, they walked with each other through:
